Guild Wars 2 announces next expansion

ArenaNet has announced that Guild Wars 2 will be releasing its second expansion called Path of Fire and it will be launched on September 22. Players can already start pre-ordering the game as of now for $29.99 or bundled with Heart of Thorns for $49.99. There will be a free preview From Aug 11-13 for all players, including fully free-to-play and new accounts. Purchases of Path of Fire will also come with a free level 80 boost for one character.

Path of Fire will take place at the harsh region of Crystal Desert, with players hunting down the rogue God Balthazar who set its sight on wreaking havoc and killing the elder dragon Kralkatorrik.

Players will also be able to explore the five giant new open-world zones using their mounts, a newly introduced feature its own twist. Each mount will have its own special abilities to help players explore the world. For example, the raptor mount allows players a long jump to cross gaps that would normally be impassable.

Path of Fire will also provide nine new elite specializations, one for each of Guild Wars 2’s professions, offering new types of weapon and new ways to play.
