The H1Z1 largest eSports event of the year has arrived with a prize pool of $300,000 on the line and the first team-based invitational for the game. H1Z1 Developer, Daybreak Games, announced the “Fight For The Crown” event on Wednesday 22nd.
The CW network will broadcast the tournament at 9 p.m. on April 20th and 15 teams will compete on a single map fighting for supremacy in the one hour match.
The arena will be entered by a total of 15 teams with 5 individuals in each team, together with the top prize of $180,000 on the line. Four teams are invited to compete so far, Echo Fox, Denial, Panda Global and Rogue all fielding squads at the live finals in Los Angeles, taking place on April 20th.
“It will be fascinating to see the different team dynamics and strategies at work because the stakes are higher,” H1Z1 executive producer Chris Wynn said in a statement. “There is no room for mistakes or hesitation when your whole team is relying on you.”
The rest of the squads will be determined by the tournament organizers via entries through the official site.
