Wings Gaming wins 9.1 million in Dota 2 International 2016
Chinese team Wings Gaming became the new Aegis champion of Dota 2, and winning $9.1 million – the largest prize pool at the KeyArena TI6 or International Championships.
American team Digital Chaos, with an effective draft, dominated the first game and Wings manage to capitalize on DC’s mistakes and power through on the second game.
Wings continue with an aggressive play on the third and outplayed DC’s defenses in game four, securing their victory.
DC will walk away with a cool $3.4 million as second place winner and coming in third, past TI5 winner, Evil Geniuses with $2.2 million.
This year fan’s favorite team – Evil Geniuses, Team Liquid, and OG, all failing to reach the finals and lost to the underdogs.
Beside finishing in second place, Digital Chaos deserved some recognition for their impressive kill list. DC eliminated stronger teams like EHOME, LGD Gaming, TNC, Fnatic and and even Evil Geniuses before reaching the finals.
